[ It definitely isn't boring. For all the many things Grady has to regret about what he's doing, he can't find it in himself to regret getting to know David, even if it does make some things more complicated. ]

Next time. [ It's as much of a promise as he can offer. He tries not to think about that too much. David's hands are both occupied, so he takes the opportunity to reach up to brush his fingertips over the other man's shoulder, as if memorising him piece by piece, then to the back of his neck to tug him forward to kiss him. ]

[ David makes a soft little sound of surprise when he's tugged forward, but the way he melts into the kiss betrays that he's far more comfortable with all of this than he should be. Everything about David is soft (when he isn't talking), from the way he teases Grady into taking over the kiss to the palms that slide down the sides of his neck just to hold him.

He has to hold him in the kiss because, surprise, he still has to talk. ]

This, um... [ Smirking slightly into his beard, whispering now: ] This is the next time. [ He runs the tip of his tongue along the split in Grady's lip before kissing him again. ] Unless this is.. you know. Strictly a trade.

[ Grady doesn't mind David taking control at all; the opposite, in fact, which might be surprising to anyone who has had the misfortune of watching him argue to the point of fanaticism over literally everything else in his life. He hisses through his teeth when David's tongue skates over the cut in his lip, but doesn't pull away.

His own hands find David's sides and slide down them, enjoying the texture of his sweater and the solid warmth of his body underneath. He grins against David's mouth. ] Mm. You don't want your half of the trade?

Uh, nooo... [ He pulls back just enough to grimace properly, immediately regretting the tease. It's far too typical of him to talk himself out of a good thing. ] No, no. I definitely didn't say that.

[ But despite being born to be greedy, he reaches up to drag one fingertip gently over Grady's busted lip and raises an eyebrow, asking without asking while he lifts one leg to hook his knee over the other man's thigh. Isn't it going to hurt, though? ]

[ It's okay, Grady's feeling greedy enough for both of them, chasing the one good thing about this whole trip. He palms David's knee and slides his hand up that elegantly clad thigh, squeezing lightly, almost but not quite dangerously close to certain points of no return, not dropping David's gaze as he does so. Yeah, his look says, it'll hurt but I'll make it worth it.

Out loud, in a low voice: ] Good. 'Cause now I can't stop thinking about it.

[ The eye contact makes it hard for David to fill his lungs all the way, but it's the hand on his thigh that makes him forget the ratty state of the room they're in. Especially the bed they're sitting on. ]

Yeah? [ He manages not to stutter but it's still said in that ever-present, self-conscious tone he has when he's with Grady: 'who, me?' ] Well... yeah, me too. Because, um. I was waiting for your text.

[ David swallows a little too obviously right then and it's kiss Grady again or wait until he's blushing. He chooses to do the first, hoping to distract him. ]

You have no idea how fast I drove here. [ Shut up, David. ] Like, fifteen over the limit.

[ It's pretty cute, the babbling. Grady doesn't fight very hard to keep the grin from turning up the corners of his mouth, his expression going a little soft after that kiss.

He reaches up to brush his thumb along David's jaw, then over his mouth. ]

Dunno if I deserve fifteen over the limit.

[ David keeps enough of a shadow just to be a little rough to the touch and he leans forward a little to bite down gently on the tip of Grady's thumb as it passes over his lips. ]

Well, you weren't getting any more. That's just dangerous.

[ He's not joking. Driving is stressful. But to prove he's willing to perform other gestures for him, David coaxes Grady's lingering thumb between his lips in a long, sucking kiss. ]

[ Grady's admittedly easy for just about anything David wants to do for or with him, though the sucking on his thumb hits especially hard. His heart turns over and he groans wordlessly, catching his lower lip under his teeth as he focuses on David's mouth. And all the other things David's mouth could do. ]

Love when you do that. [ He murmurs the words softly, the hand on David's thigh rubbing a slow circle. He wasn't lying, he's not sure he deserves any of this, but he's definitely willing to take as much as he can get. ]

[ It's exciting that he can pull reactions like that groan out of Grady because his 'type' has historically been a lot of pampered, pretentious, empty people. Grady is so rough and real that everything with him feels far more breathless and immediate. Nothing feels like a performance.

And David hardly needs the coaxing to give his thumb a quick, teasing suck down to the nailbed before releasing him. When he does, he takes the hand on his thigh and moves it up where it belongs. ]
